Tony Honoree: Arts Ignite Founder Mary-Mitchell Campbell
Twenty Years in the Making: What a Night to Remember!

On Sunday, June 7th, 2026, Arts Ignite founder Mary-Mitchell Campbell received the prestigious Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award for her extraordinary humanitarian service through the arts. Celebrating her dedication on Broadway’s biggest night was a deeply moving experience for the Arts Ignite community. For everyone who has witnessed her unwavering commitment to young people, artists, and communities, it was a moment of tremendous pride and joy.
What made the evening even more special was seeing Arts Ignite youth featured on the big screen during the broadcast. The students, their stories, and the transformative power of arts education were celebrated before a national audience, a beautiful reminder of why this work matters so much.
Those who haven’t yet watched Mary-Mitchell’s acceptance speech are encouraged to take a moment to do so. Her words beautifully capture the spirit of Arts Ignite and the belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their voice, creativity, and courage.
This milestone arrives in Arts Ignite’s 20th anniversary year, making this moment all the more special. It’s a celebration not only of Mary-Mitchell, but of every student, teaching artist, partner, donor, volunteer, and supporter who has helped make this work possible over the past two decades. Her vision continues to grow, and so does the organization’s shared commitment to the young people it serves.
Supporting Arts Ignite helps create moments like this. Together, more young people, in more communities, can gain access to the transformative power of the arts, and Arts Ignite looks forward to seeing where the next 20 years lead.
