Arts Ignite Program
Community Events
Arts Ignite Community Events are single day events centered around exciting art activities and games. These programs are designed to build community, foster collaboration, and create joy for all who attend.

About the program
Let the arts ignite your next community event
Arts Ignite Community Events provide arts-focused workshops and activities to engage community members of all ages. Members of the Arts Ignite team generate an artistic theme with each partner organization, plan and prepare for the event, and provide Teaching Artist-led workshops for young people and families.
Arts Ignite structures our community events around skill-building activities and games that enhance participants’ confidence, collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. We integrate these critical skills into activities like water balloon tosses, tie-dyeing, jewelry making, sports, and more.
Led by Arts Ignite Teaching Artists
Teaching Artists create and lead workshops and games that are tailored for each event—whether it’s a street fair, special celebration, or end-of-year virtual party. They make sure to support every gathering’s specific engagement goals with activities that strengthen social skills, team building, and creative capacity. Partner Stories
Creating memories and community through the arts
“‘Everyone knows me as the winner of Hot Snowball!’ I remember the great pride of one of our community participants as he shared with me his hard-won title from our holiday event six months earlier. The most fulfilling part of our community events is when we are able to create lasting memories, laughter, and joy with our multi-generational participants through arts activities and experiences—and are invited back to engage with them time and time again.” – Lindsay Roberts Greene, Director of Programs
Engaging people of all ages
“Me siento feliz! Mi parte favorita fue pintándome la cara. (I feel happy! My favorite part was getting my face painted.)” – Luis, age 7
Like the Arts Ignite workshops and residencies, community events engage the visual and performing arts to bring folks together across generations. Freeze dance, community murals, and the ever-popular face painting are just a few of our most-requested activities that elevate any event.
