Land Acknowledgment
Arts Ignite acknowledges that our offices occupy the unceded land of the Munsee Lenape people. We work to honor past, present, and future generations of people who have been displaced from the area, and we acknowledge the contributions that have been made by enslaved and displaced people to shaping, building, and maintaining what is now known as New York City. We show gratitude to the many thousands of Native Americans who are living in and contributing to New York City, and we pay our respects to elders past, present and future.
As our work and community extend beyond this island, we acknowledge that the Northeast is the homeland of many Indigenous Nations. Arts Ignite pays respect to all Indigenous peoples who have stewarded this land throughout the generations, and to their ongoing contributions, culturally, intellectually, artistically and spiritually.
We invite you to learn more about the lands you inhabit at http://native-land.ca/
