See Highlights from the 2024 Christmas Concert!

The annual New York City Christmas concert is over for another year! As we gathered on December 9th at Joe’s Pub to celebrate 15 incredible years of music, we raised a historic and record breaking $125,000 for arts education! The evening featured a cast of Broadway all-stars performing songs off of the original New York CIty Christmas: A Benefit Album for ASTEP, which kicked off this treasured tradition!

This year’s concert featured such luminaries as Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid, The Phantom of the Opera), Tony winner Lindsay Mendez (Merrily We Roll Along, Carousel, Wicked), Jessica Vosk (Wicked, Fiddler on the Roof), Ximone Rose (Into the Woods, Once On This Island), Chester Gregory (Motown: The Musical, Hairspray), Tony nominee Elizabeth Stanley (Jagged Little Pill, Cry-Baby, Company), Telly Leung (Allegiance, Rent, Wicked), Kay Trinidad (Hadestown), Marissa Rosen (Water For Elephants), Lauren Marcus (Be More Chill) Jay Armstrong Johnson (Phantom Of The Opera), and Shea Renee (Hadestown, Allegiance). In addition to their performances, this year’s event featured a special post-set featuring Jessica Vosk performing songs off her recent Christmas album, ‘Sleigh.’

Leading the band was Lynne Shankel (keyboards), joined by Sean McDaniel (drums), Matt Brown and Dan Hartington (guitars), Mary Ann McSweeney (bass), Maxim Mosten (violin), Laura Bontrager (cello), Colin Brigstocke (trumpet), Aaron Heick, Dave Richards, and Jeff Schiller (woodwinds). 

The ensemble featured Audrey Blaze, Emma Carlile, Cydney Gleckner, Caleb Grisset, Morgan McGhee, Jackson Mizell, Elisabeth Nordeen, Mark Saunders, and Eli Thomas.

A big thank you goes out to everyone involved in making this year’s event a success. First of all, our incredible Musical Director Lynne Shankel, who had the vision for this event 15 years ago and pulls together all of the amazing talent and music. In addition to our featured performers, we thank our band and ensemble members for their amazing talent.
